Vinotherapy
When I first heard the term Vinotherapy I thought it meant drinking a chilled glass of chardonnay every hour. It works for me. I was only slightly disappointed to learn that it’s a series a spa treatments based on grape seed extract. After years of research at (where else) France’s Bordeaux University, aspects of grapes have been found to combat the free radicals which age skin, increase circulation and supply beneficial anti-oxidants.
Kenwood Inn and Spa, located in the heart of the Napa/Sonoma wine country, has the distinction of being the only spa in the country to offer Caudalie’s Vinotherapie.
Here’s a sampling of some of Kenwood Spa’s grape-inspired treatments:
Wine Barrel Bath: Soak in bubbling water enriched with fresh, finely crushed grape extracts from seed, skin, stalk, and pulp.
Crushed Cabernet Scrub: The perfect start to your Vinotherapie treatments. To free your skin of dead skin cells, we have developed this scrub using grape seeds, honey and essential oils
Sauvignon Massage: A soothing massage using grape seed oil from Sauvignon grapes and organic essential oils for either a revitalizing or relaxing effect.
Honey and Wine Wrap: Hot application of wine yeast, honey, and organic essential oils. This gentle treatment helps to moisturize the skin while strengthening its immune defenses.
So next time you’re in the northern California wine region tour the wineries, sample the wines and top it off with some vinotherapy!
