Organizing a Girls Trip? Check out TripHub.

TripHubWhen it’s time for our annual sisters get together, we usually take turns being the organizer.  The organizer sends out the emails to find out what weekend everyone is available (with my sisters schedules this can be quite a challenge), arranges for the hotel, gathers the flight itineraries, thinks about fun activities and coordinates the trip in general.

Good news - TripHub just made this task a lot easier!  TripHub is a group planning tool that allows members of a traveling group to share the details of an upcoming trip such as flight times, accommodations, and activities and even keeps track of money owed for a trip.  Trip details are only visible to those in your group.

Using TripHub is easy.  As the trip organizer, you create a trip, describe where you plan to go, and then invite your girlfriends.  Invitations are tracked like eVite so you know who’s accepted, are tentative or have declined. Those invited can view the trip on TripHub and discuss ideas for accommodations, flights, car rentals and even book group tours.

When testing TripHub, I started planning a trip to Charleston.  You can shop for and book a hotel or you can list the name of another accommodation, such as a private residence.  Shopping for a hotel worked fine and uses Hotels.com for searching, although I found its list of choices wasn’t as complete as those found using Expedia.  Charleston has some wonderful bed & breakfasts like the Wentworth Mansion and the Planters Inn and these didn’t appear when searching with TripHub.

You can also book flight reservations using TripHub.  If you’ve booked a flight by some other means (see Booking a Flight?), you can share your flight information with the rest of the group using TripHub.  There’s even some useful information about booking group flight reservations.

Other nice features include being able to send an email to those invited on the trip – useful for trip updates, last minute packing tips and meeting details. TripHub also includes a blog called the Group Trip Advisor which includes some useful information such as Spa Etiquette and Hints for Group Spa Travel.
