A Girlaway Giveaway!
September 4th, 2006 by Rhonda Filed under Where to Stay, News, Contests
Thanks to the generosity of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, one of our readers will win a Girls Getaway at one of the luxurious Fairmont Hotels & Resorts listed below.
All you have to do to enter is comment on this post with a link to your favorite Girlaway article (excluding this one of course). If some of you have a hard time deciding which is your favorite post, you can provide a creative suggestion for a future article. Either method counts as one entry.
Many of the Fairmont hotels are historic treasures located in prime city locations – the Fairmont Boston, Fairmont San Francisco, Fairmont Chicago and the Olympic Hotel in Seattle are just a few. The Fairmont at Banff Springs is a Scottish baronial-style castle and has a spectacular setting in the Rocky Mountains. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess has an excellent spa and is a perfect destination if you’re looking for warmth during the cooler months.
The Girlaway Giveaway prize includes:
- one night stay, double occupancy, at a Fairmont hotel or resort
- breakfast for two the following morning
One entry per person - multiple entries will disqualify you. All entries must be received by September 30, 2006. You must be 18 years or older and be a resident of the United States or Canada. Airfare and other transportation not included. See full contest rules.

I love the article on San Francisco…. after celebrating my 40th birthday there, I totally agree that this is a wonderful place to visit. I would also add to the “Top Things to do…” list driving the scenic highway from San Francisco to the Russian River Valley.

This was rather unique and entertaining! The part about the puppy made me LOL!!!
September 7th, 2006 at 1:01 pm
http://www.girlaway.com/archives/116 is one of my favorites. It captures a picture in time of how “they” exist without you.
September 7th, 2006 at 11:20 pm
I would have to say - http://www.girlaway.com/archives/99 - because Nantucket rocks and being someone who gets there at least once annually, you captured it perfectly. A big fan of Black-Eyed Susans, I would also add calamari at the Rope Walk and drinks at the Gazebo to the list!!!
I went to the Cheeky Monkey for the first time this year and loved it! I think we’d get along famously… if nothing else, we’d eat well.

Great site! Glad I found you.
September 8th, 2006 at 1:26 am
I have two favorites:
1. This fab review of TripHub because I’m interviewed for it and feel a swell of pride when I read it, and I’m a big fan of the site (as well as its blog editor) http://www.girlaway.com/archives/113
2. And this is an excellent list of bakeries. Daaahlin’, I love Dahlia Bakery, too.
http://www.girlaway.com/archives/118
Mmm, mmm, mmm… a nice list. The Dahlia Bakery is truly divine. I love traveling and dining out to try new cuisine, wine, desserts, you name it - especially in a foreign country. Gelato in Italia is perfecto!
Here’s a compilation of culinary, wine, and other food tours I just pulled together:
