When we travel we’re always on the look-out for great bakeries. During our last visit to Napa, we took an afternoon dessert break at Sweetie Pies, which is located on Main Street in an historic red brick building. Besides a lunch menu, the bakery offers a wonderful selection of sweets: coffee cake, scones, muffins, pastries, turnovers, individual sized cakes, bars, cheesecakes, pies and their version of homemade oreos.  We all ordered our own individually sized cakes which were beautiful and decadent.  Once you visit you’ll see why Sweetie Pies has been praised by Sunset magazine, the New York Times and the Food Network.
