I’ve been asked why girl trips are so popular. One of the reasons is a girls-only get together is a great opportunity to reestablish bonds with sisters, daughters or girlfriends.  My three sisters and I live in four different states from coast to coast, so our trips together help us to stay close.

Another reason is that a group of women traveling together can do things that mainly appeal to women.  You can shop, go to the spa, tour a mansion or stroll through a botanical garden. I don’t know about you, but I’d have a hard time convincing my husband and kids to do these same types of activities.

I also think moms like me relish the opportunity to just focus on their own needs for a few days.  Spending a few days away from your daily routine and responsibilities allows many women to recharge and have a fresh perspective.

Finally, one of the benefits I love about a get-together is that you can stay in hotels you might normally consider as too expensive. Sharing a hotel room and splitting the cost makes even luxury hotels affordable.
